A DISTRAUGHT mum has thanked her own mother for saving the life of her baby after the pair were dragged under a car which ploughed into a shop. Amy Marshall-Sellars, 33, was working at her card and gift shop in Blackley while her mum Maureen, 63, stood outside with baby Alfie, 10 months, in his pram. As revealed in the M.E.N, the pair were hit by a green Vauxhall Astra which careered off Victoria Avenue and ploughed into the front of the Occasions shop. The air ambulance was scrambled and Maureen, Alfie, and Amy's two year-old daughter Ayla- Rose, who was in the shop and was knocked to the floor, were all taken to hospital. Remarkably, despite his pushchair being completely crushed, Alfie escaped with minor injuries after his gran took the force of the impact. Maureen remains in Manchester Royal Infirmary where she had emergency surgery to repair severed tendons in her left leg. …
