FRED Born says (Viewpoints April 5) that he is confused and amused by previous correspondence regarding the site of the FC United stadium.

I feel equally confused by what he has to say.

He laughs at the suggestion that 'dog poo and litter was preferable to a football stadium.' .

OK, there was a little bit of litter, just as there is on any public space, but has it never occurred to him that there is inevitably going to be a lot more when 5,000 people turn up at the stadium? He states that the Ronald Johnson playing field, where the stadium is being built, is 'a completely different site to Broadhurst Fields.' .

Not so, the club's two practice pitches and all weather pitch will be on part of the land given by Sir Edward Broadhurst to the people of Manchester as a public park.

He asks whether the protesters will be of the same mind if the ground requires expanding in five years' time. …
