Minnesota GOP Included in Story about Mismanaged State Parties

Minnesota's GOP Party gets mentioned in a Politico story noting how national Republican leaders are intervening in some states, "seeking to head off the possibility that local mismanagement could cost the party control of Congress."

The national leaders are particularly worried about states where there's not much competition in the presidential race, but where House and Senate seats are at risk. These so-called "orphan states" - - "most notably behemoths with traditionally weak parties like California, Illinois and New York -- are increasingly the focus of top GOP officials in the nation's capital this spring."

But the story says the Republican have problems in other states, too:

"The Minnesota GOP is so deep in debt it has stopped paying the lease on its headquarters, the Iowa and Nevada parties are in transition after disastrous caucuses, and Ohio Republicans have been in a state of open warfare for months."

It continues:

"No state party may be in worse shape, though, than the Minnesota GOP. …
