No. 15 Bucs Roll to Seventh Straight Win

TUSCALOOSA | The No. 15 Shelton State Buccaneers dominated the Gadsden State Cardinals defensively for their seventh consecutive win 93-70 on Monday night at the Umphrey Center.

"I thought we did well tonight," Shelton State coach Barry Mohun said. "We had a lot of different people contribute tonight, and that's always a plus."

Shelton State (20-3, 7-1 Alabama Community College Conference) held Gadsden State to 33 percent shooting from the field, but nowhere were the Buccaneers as successful defensively as they were from beyond the 3-point arc. The Cardinals hit just eight of their 35 attempts from long range, many of them taken quickly or without a good look at the basket.

"We try to harp on that," Mohun said. "We took away a lot of easy shots."

Antjuan Ball and Sean Hiller led the Buccaneers with 15 points each, while Nick McHenry and Travis Daniels each scored 13. The Cardinals were led by Terrence Lee, who scored 19.

The first half started as a fast-paced, close game, but by midway through the first half, Gadsden State couldn't keep up. …
