PARK JOGGER WENT UP A HILL AND BECAME HERO FOR A DOG

Who says the runners and dog walkers don't get along in Frick Park?

I am a 58-year-old woman with a 1-year-old lab mix. He is high energy -- me not so much, especially after work.

I keep him on a 20-foot lead so I can let him run up and down the hillsides to give him the exercise he needs. We were walking up a trail when I tossed the stick up a steep embankment.

No sooner than I thought, "His leash could get caught up there, and you could never get it down," it did! With a crying pup sitting on the hillside, I tried my best to climb up holding onto tree trunks, but I couldn't make it.

Then a silver-haired runner stopped and somehow clawed his way up high enough to grab the leash and pull it loose. I never got his name, but I thanked him again and again.

And yes, the people at Frick Park -- be they dog walkers, runners or bicyclists -- do get along great!

ELECTRICIAN OVERWHELMED HER BY GRATITUDE FOR SON'S SERVICE

Where do I begin? I was looking to have some electric work done and asked my cousin if she knew anyone.

Her reply was, "Yes, my neighbor. I will get his number for you." So I got the number and called the fellow, and we set up a time for an estimate. We then agreed on a price and when the work would be done.

While the electrician was working, I asked if he would do a few other electrical projects for me and he said he would be glad to. I had to go to a meeting, so I left him there to do his work.

When I returned the work hadn't been completed, but he left me a note explaining that he needed to pick up a couple of things for both projects. His note said to call him to set up another time that was convenient for me so he could finish the work.

He came back, finished the first project and started on the second one. …
