Gateway Bank bought

Indiana, Pa.-based S&T Bancorp agreed to buy Gateway Bank of Pennsylvania in a stock and cash deal valued at $22 million. Gateway, founded in 2004, has branches in McMurray and Cranberry and assets of $120 million. The acquisition, expected to be completed in the third quarter, expands S&T's footprint into the northern and southern suburbs of Pittsburgh. The combined company will have assets of about $4.4 billion.

US Airways cutting back

US Airways is eliminating 17 of the 100 full- and part-time fleet service jobs at Pittsburgh International Airport, effective June 3. After the latest cutbacks, it will have 1,800 employees in Pittsburgh. Nationwide, US Airways is cutting 145 employees in 17 cities.

MSA chief pay hike

MSA President and CEO William M. Lambert was paid $4.5 million in 2011, up 46 percent from the previous year. The compensation was disclosed in a proxy statement sent to shareholders in advance of the Cranberry safety products company's May 8 annual meeting at company headquarters. …
