St. Barnabas offers free Easter dinners

Free Easter dinners will be served to those in need from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at St. Barnabas Nursing Home, 5827 Meridian Road, and Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas, 85 Charity Place, Valencia.

The dinners will be served sit-down style and will be a traditional Easter dinner with all the trimmings. Reservations are requested but not necessary, 724-444-5510 at St. Barnabas or 724- 625-4000, Ext. 244 at Valencia Woods.

The dinners are sponsored by St. Barnabas Charities.


Transition fair at Beattie Center

The Deer Lakes, North Allegheny, Northgate, North Hills, Pine- Richland and Shaler Area school districts will offer secondary parents, students and the community information regarding transitioning special needs students beyond high school during a transition fair from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2012, at A.W. Beattie Career Center.

Representatives will be on hand from employment agencies, post- secondary schools and training centers as well as county agencies and resources.

Food Donations through April Qualify for Feinstein Funds

North Hills Community Outreach is participating in the nationwide Feinstein Challenge. Every dollar donated and food item collected for NHCO's food pantries during March and April will be matched through the challenge. Each year, the Feinstein Foundation issues a $1 million fundraising challenge to organizations dedicated to erasing hunger. Miniature Golf Tournament Registration Underway

North Hills Community Outreach's 11th Annual Mini-Masters Miniature Golf Tournament will take place on May 17 at RMU Island Sports Center on Neville Island. Tickets are $45 per person or $175 per foursome and include a round of miniature golf, buffet dinner and silent auction. Vince Sims of WPXI-TV will serve as the event emcee. NHCO Seeking Volunteer Financial and Employment Coaches

North Hills Community Outreach is seeking financial coaches to work one-on-one with individuals to develop and improve financial management and behaviors and employment coaches to meet with individuals to guide their job searches by providing help with job search techniques, resume writing and interview preparation.
