LOOK GOOD TRYING ON A DRESS AND MAYBE YOU'LL GET IT FREE

I was in a retail shop called The Clothes Line on Liberty Avenue in Bloomfield when I tried on this stunning dress.

A woman in the store admired how good it looked on me. A poet, she said she wanted to buy it for me, and she gave me her card.

It was such a lovely gesture. She said when I wear it, I should think of her. What a nice surprise.

MISGUIDED MOM TAKING TROLLEY WAS CHAUFFEURED TO DAY CARE

I have to write about this random act of kindness from a fellow Pittsburgher. After the Gateway Center T station reopened for business after two years, I boarded a Red Line trolley at 5 p.m. on a busy weekday, instead of my Blue Line.

After crossing South Hills Junction, I realized that I was on the wrong route and would have to travel back to South Hills Junction and then get on a Blue Line T to reach Memorial Hall, where I needed to go to pick up my preschooler from day care.

To add to my troubles, I was in one of the cars that did not open at each station, so I would have to ride out to Castle Shannon at the least. Hearing my dismay, one of the fellow passengers explained my options to me and then said he could instead drive me from Castle Shannon to Memorial Hall.

I took a leap of faith and went along, as otherwise there was no way I could get to the day care before the 6 p.m. closing time. I thanked the stranger profusely for his help and still feel touched by his random act of kindness.

Thanks again, Bob, from a very grateful mom!

TRUCK DRIVER STOPPED TO CHANGE OLDER MOTORIST'S FIRST FLAT TIRE

After more than 40 years of driving, I had my first flat tire at midday on a recent Wednesday on Stotler Road in Penn Hills.

While I was trying to call someone to change my tire, a big truck pulled up behind me. The driver got out, checked to see if I had a spare and jack, and then proceeded to change my flat tire. …
