Collection of 'E-Waste' Set for Washington County

Televisions, cell phones and other "e-waste" will be collected from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 12 at Steel City Harley-Davidson, Route 19 and Racetrack Road in Meadowlands, Washington County.

While most items will be collected for free, a nominal fee will be charged to drop off batteries, fluorescent tubes, VHS and cassette tapes, CDs and DVDs. WALK ON WALNUT

Today and Sunday, the Shadyside Chamber of Commerce will host the 2012 Walk on Walnut to benefit the Women's Center and Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh, which helps victims of domestic violence. More than 50 businesses on and around Walnut Street will donate a portion of their sales to the Women's Center. The self-guided crawl today includes incentives to shop at participating businesses. A grand prize gift card basket valued at more than $2,000 will be awarded to the winner of a drawing. …
