BALTIMORE -- Ravens outside linebacker Terrell Suggs, the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year, underwent successful surgery on his torn Achilles tendon Tuesday afternoon, but his availability for the 2012 season remains a significant question mark.

Suggs said he suffered the torn Achilles on April 18 while doing conditioning work near his Arizona home.

NEW YORK -- Stacy Robinson, a wide receiver who won two Super Bowls with the New York Giants before working with the players' union, has died after a battle with cancer. He was 50. Robinson played all six of his NFL seasons for the Giants after he was drafted 46th overall out of North Dakota State in 1985.

MLB: Kershaw home streak snapped

LOS ANGELES -- Ryan Vogelsong pitched into the eighth inning for the first time this season and the San Francisco Giants ended a streak of 12 consecutive winning decisions at home by Clayton Kershaw with a 2-1 victory against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night.

Kershaw hadn't lost at home since April 16, 2011, against St. Louis.

Beltran belts two

PHOENIX -- Carlos Beltran homered in his first two at-bats, including a grand slam, for six RBIs, and St. Louis handed the Arizona Diamondbacks their fourth loss in a row, 6-1. Beltran, who had one of the Cardinals' five homers in their 9-6 series-opening victory Monday, hit a two-run homer off Ian Kennedy in the first, then cleared the bases with a shot into the swimming pool area in right-center in the seconds his 10th career grand slam.

Rockies lose fifth in a row

SAN DIEGO -- Will Venable tripled and scored in the first, then doubled in the go-ahead run in the fifth inning as the San Diego Padres sent the Colorado Rockies to their fifth consecutive loss with a 3-1 victory.
