As lifelong residents and union women activists in Pennsylvania, our mission is to determine common problems and concerns in an attempt to educate women in political struggles. In response to the June 26 story "Turzai's Voter ID Remark Draws Criticism" our statement is that women must stand to be protected when it comes to voting rights.

The new voting law puts obstacles between Pennsylvania women and our right to vote more so than any other voter. Women will quickly need to be assisted, especially the elderly women in Pennsylvania, on the difficulties they may face come Election Day.

Women who have had any type of name change for any reason must have valid photo ID that matches their voter registration. If you were married or divorced recently or you have had a name change for any reason and never informed the Pennsylvania Voting Registration Department you may contact them on the web or get information to do so at: http://www.dmv.state.pa.us/voter/voteridlaw.shtml.

Our united goal is that not one Pennsylvania woman be denied their 19th Amendment right to vote. …
