Article excerpt

Oakland Raiders (3-5) at Baltimore Ravens (6-2) * 1 p.m. * Ravens and Steelers get AFC West lowlights before they play each other. If Carson Palmer's familiarity with the Ravens allows him to play as he did vs. the Steelers, maybe he could produce the same result. Prediction: Ravens, 27-17

New York Giants (6-3) at Cincinnati Bengals (3-5) * 1 p.m. * What do Eli Manning and Andy Dalton have in common? Neither could pass for more than 125 yards vs. the Steelers. The Bengals are moving the wrong way after a 3-1 start, a slide that should continue. Prediction: Giants, 30-20

Denver Broncos (5-3) at Carolina Panthers (2-6) * 1 p.m. * John Fox spent nine seasons as coach in Carolina and returns for first time since being fired. He comes armed with a QB who has been firing a lot of TD passes -- three in each of the past five games. Prediction: Broncos, 24-16

Tennessee Titans (3-6) at Miami Dolphins (4-4) * 1 p.m. * It has been one of those what-if seasons for the Dolphins, who have a pair of OT defeats and a 3-point loss to the Colts. Their rookie QB, Ryan Tannehill, hasn't thrown a pick in past four games. Prediction: Dolphins, 31-20

Detroit Lions (4-4) at Minnesota Vikings (5-4) * 1 p.m. * Kurt Warner is the only QB to reach 10,000 passing yards faster than Matthew Stafford. But it might be more imperative for the Lions to stop Adrian Peterson, who has run for more than 120 yards in past three games. Prediction: Lions, 34-28

Buffalo Bills (3-5) at New England Patriots (5-3) * 1 p.m. * Patriots lead the NFL in points per game (32.8), yards per game (440.8) and have won 11 in a row at home vs. the Bills. Not good news for the Bills, who have allowed the second-most points in the NFL (248). Prediction: Patriots, 42-23

Atlanta Falcons (8-0) at New Orleans Saints (3-5) * 1 p.m. * Make no mistake: The Falcons are good, better than people want to give them credit. But the Saints appear to have found their way after all their internal turmoil, winning three of their past four. Prediction: Saints, 34-30

San Diego Chargers (4-4) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-4) * 1 p. …
