Police Obtain Warrant in Double Homicide

Allegheny County police have obtained a warrant for a Duquesne man in connection with two fatal shootings there on Monday.

Michael Robinson, 26, faces two counts of criminal homicide and a felony count of carrying a firearm without a license, according to court documents.

Lawrence Short, 29, of Clairton, and Tyrone Coleman, 18, of Duquesne died in the shootings that occurred about 5:45 p.m. in the 600 block of Crawford Avenue.

Police said the shooting was "precipitated by an ongoing rivalry between family and associates" of Mr. Short and Mr. Robinson.

County homicide Lt. Andrew Schurman would not say whether investigators believe there was a single shooter.

When police visited the home of Mr. Robinson's grandmother on Monday evening, they encountered Mr. Robinson and another male, both of whom ran from police.

After searching the area, they discovered a rifle in an SUV that Mr. Robinson had driven to the location and later, two discarded handguns, one of which had been reported stolen from Lincoln Boro. …
