A Verona man driving a stolen car was arrested early Monday morning after Pittsburgh police said he led them on a chase through Homewood and Lincoln-Lemington.

Keenan Tolliver, 20, was arraigned Monday morning on numerous charges, including gun violations, drug possession charges and charges he attempted to elude police and resisted arrest.

Pittsburgh police Sgt. Arthur Baker wrote in an affidavit of probable cause that he was driving along Brushton Avenue in Homewood Monday morning when he saw someone speeding in a silver Cadillac CTS.

He followed the car as it turned numerous times, eventually heading through a wooded area, the sergeant wrote. The driver, whom police identified later as Mr. Tolliver, opened the door, dropped a pistol onto the ground, picked up the gun and drove away again, Sgt. Baker wrote.

The sergeant continued to follow the vehicle while he waited for help from other officers and Mr. Tolliver lost control of the car, smashing into a brick wall on the side of an alley near Gopher Street, according to the affidavit. …
