NORTH HILLS PLANETARIUM SHOWS

Ross - Reservations are being accepted for free sky shows tonight and March 11 and 14 in North Hills High School planetarium.

The 24-foot planetarium dome will show "Zubenelgenubi's Magical Sky" at 6:30 p.m. for younger children.

"Latin Mythology in the Planetarium," produced by North Hills students, will follow at 7:15 p.m. and is appropriate for older children through adults.

All shows are free but reservations are required: 412-318-1000, ext. 3166 or batsons@nhsd.net.

Groups are welcome.

The planetarium is on the third floor of the high school, 53 Rochester Road, Ross.

The gift shop that supports North Hills High School Astronomy Club will be open for all shows.

COUNCIL HOLDS ANNUAL SEEDLING SALE

NORTH PARK - The North Area Environmental Council is holding its annual sale of tree, shrub and wildflower seedlings.

Orders must be placed by March 22 and picked up on April 12 at Latodami Nature Center in North Park, 575 Brown Road.

Plant descriptions and a printable order form with prices are available at the council's website: naecwpa.org.

Available species are American arborvitae, American cranberry viburnum, American elderberry, American mountain ash, blue chip juniper, bur oak, Canadian hemlock, eastern white pine, purple coneflower, white flowering dogwood and wild senna.

All plants are nursery grown in Pennsylvania, bundled and packed bare-root.

The species are selected to create and improve wildlife habitat, as well as for their beauty and their ability to suit a variety of landscape sites and conditions.

Each species is sold in bundles of five plants.

North Area Environmental Council is a 44-year-old organization to protect and improve a healthy and biologically diverse local environment.

It engages in ecological restoration projects, land conservation, education, advocacy and scientific research. …
