Andelin, Marguerite B.

Marguerite B. Andelin, 96, of Venice died Feb. 6, 2012.

There are no services planned at this time. Farley Funeral Home, Venice, is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen Huebner of Venice; son Gerald Alan of Tampa; and three grandchildren.

Bigger, Walter H.

Dec. 7, 1915 - Feb. 5, 2012

Walter Bigger 96 of Sarasota, passed away peacefully on Feb, 5, 2012.

Mr. Bigger was the son of Belva Lawson of Owensboro, Ky. He graduated with high honors from the University of Illinois receiving his degree as an electrical engineer. He lived in Iowa with his wife of 57 years, Sue Taylor Bigger for 10 years, moving to Dallas, Texas in 1956 where he worked for Collins Radio until he opened his own business. He was the leader of the Windmill Theory in the US. He also worked for the Navy Department for four years.

Walter and his wife with their daughter, Jan moved to Sarasota, Fla. in 1976. He was very active in Power Squadron, Sarasota Yacht Club, golfing, the operator of Ham Radio and sail boat racing.

He leaves behind his only child, Jan F. Bigger of Sarasota and many, nieces, nephews and cousins. Walter was the oldest Bigger in the US still alive at the time of his death.

National Cremation and Burial Society is in charge of the arrangements. There will be no local services. Burial will be in Maceo, Ky. later in the spring.

Bolster, Irene

Irene Bolster, Columbia, formerly of Englewood, died Feb. 3, 2012.

A Funeral Mass of Resurrection will be held at St. Paul Catholic Church in Ramsey, N.J. on Feb. 11 at 12 noon. On Feb. 28 at Gulf Pines Cemetery in Englewood, Fla. at 11:30 a.m. the Rite of Committal with Final Commendation will take place.

She is survived by her children, Patricia Connery of Columbia, Mo.; Terry Bolster (Helena) of Wethersfield, Conn.; Fr. Tom Bolster of Hart, Mich.; John Bolster (Nancy) of Rutherford, N.J. And her grandchildren, Heather Gomez-Palacio (Dan); Kelly Leach, Susan Bolster, Leslie Bolster; Christa Allam (Bharat), Jonathan Bolster; and three great-grandchildren.

Irene Marie Bolster, currently of Columbia, Mo., died Feb. 3 at Lenoir Woods, Health Care Center.

She was born Oct. 4, 1919 in Lake Linden, Mich. to Charles P. McLaughlin and Flora Dupuis McLaughlin and grew up in Hubbell, Mich. She attended Northern State Teachers College in Marquette, Mich. and Lansing Business University before working as a chief teletypist for Oldsmobile in Lansing.

She met Maurice Bolster, the love of her life, while he was a senior at Michigan State in 1941. They were married on Jan. 21, 1943 at St. Mary's Cathedral in Lansing, Mich. They lived in Texas, Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Massachusetts and New Jersey; and retired in Englewood, Fla. After 66.5 years of wonderful marriage, Maurie died in July 2009.

Irene was an avid bridge player and loved spending time with her family and friends and traveling on cruises around the world.

Bucy, Gila Maxine

Feb. 2, 1929 - Feb. 6, 2012

Gila Maxine Bucy, 83, of Sarasota, formerly of Easton, Pa. and Terre Haute, Ind. died Feb. 6, 2012.

Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Northminster Presbyterian Church. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Toale Brothers is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Darwin E.; daughters Phyllis E. Richmond of Lexington, S.C. and Lois A. Markle of Phillipsburg, N.J.; and two grandchildren, Jenea Taylor and Jensen Taylor.

Diana, Barbara Jeanne

Barbara Jeanne Diana, 58, of Venice, formerly of Pueblo West, Colo. and Chester, Va. died Feb. 1, 2012.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home and Cremation Services Venice Chapel. Inurnment will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Park. …
