BAYSHORE: Williams runs for 147 yards, but team allows 247

St. Petersburg High rallied for a 31-21 victory Friday night over the host Bayshore Bruins in a spring football game.

Both teams revealed credible ground attacks, but it was the Green Devils who had more options at running back.

Calvin Williams led Bayshore rushers with 147 yards on 21 tough carries. Williams' longest run of the night was his last late in the fourth period when he scampered 47 yards deep into St. Petersburg territory before time ran out.

Six different players lugged the pigskin for the Green Devils led by bruiser Maurice Hemingway, who needed just 10 carries to roll up 120 yards.

Hemingway took the rest of the night off after scoring his second touchdown of the night on a 6-yard run with 38 seconds remaining in the third quarter to give St. Petersburg a 21-13 lead.

Hemingway ran for 76 yards on just four carries in the first quarter.

The Green Devils took the lead for good at 14-13 on a stunning 61- yard scoring run by Anthony Foster midway through the third quarter. …
