The Bucs introduced theirs on Monday.

Reachable by air, but turbulence anticipated.

A major piece to those aspirations sat between the Tampa Bay general manager and head coach Greg Schiano before a media- overloaded interview room at One Buc Place.

Wearing a jacket and tie, Darrelle Revis guaranteed his new team "will make a lot of noise'' this upcoming season, perhaps unaware of the Bucs' history and how his mere acquisition qualifies as considerable clamor.

It's not as if Tampa Bay hasn't tried this type of thing before, stealing the daily headlines by dealing for somebody and the promise of this newest Buc making all the difference.

The did it for a player, Keyshawn Johnson, did it for a head coach, Jon Gruden, and, indeed, the difference the two made was realized in a coveted piece of hardware called the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

This Revis trade is different. More needed. More impactful. Johnson wasn't the league's best receiver when the Bucs got him, and neither was Gruden its best head coach.

When healthy, however, Revis is the game's finest cover cornerback. When healthy, he opens up the defensive playbook to exotic and unbalanced blitz packages.

When healthy, he makes every single one of his defensive teammates better, and after watching the Bucs fall to 31st last season, can anyone claim the unit doesn't need help?

When healthy. The $96 million caveat. We have to assume the Bucs had Dr. Phil, Dr. Suess and Doctor Zhivago sign off on Revis' surgically repaired knee before making the trade. …
