They don't look exactly alike, but with a hat and sun glasses there were probably some tennis members not sure who was giving the tennis lesson.

Now they know. The confusion meter at the University Park Country Club tennis courts has dropped since only one of the Grose brothers remains at the club to run the tennis program and provide lessons.

Jared Grose, who worked at the facility for 15 years, has made a career change at the age of 40. Real estate listings have replaced tennis duties. His older brother, Jason, who has been the head teaching pro at the club the past five years, takes over at tennis director.

Jason Grose, 44, officially stepped into his new position on Monday and is busy preparing for the season to kick in.

"It is going to be great," said Jason Grose. "I loved the opportunity to work with my brother the time we were both here. Now I look forward to taking on the new role."

Jason Grose had been the tennis director of the Fairfield Beach Club in Connecticut during the summers for the past dozen years in addition to the position of head teaching pro the past five years at University Park.

"I have hit the ground running," Grose said. One of the first items on his agenda was to hire a head teaching pro and he picked Joe Lisi, who served in that capacity the past seven years for Grose in Connecticut.

They are joined by fitness director Jeff Macy to provide full service to members.

Jason Grose doesn't expect any drastic changes except for building on the programs.

"I am very familiar with what has gone on here." he said. "I know the membership. I know what works."

Jason Grose, a first-team All-America player at Cowley State in 1989, has lived in Bradenton since 1992 and spent 11 years at the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy.

He takes over as the current summer membership program is winding up and the drive begins for full-time memberships, which Grose said includes many membership options. …
