Ashton Woods Homes is on a land-buying frenzy in this region.

The private homebuilder based in Atlanta picked up another 32 vacant lots in the Rosedale Golf & Country Club during Thanksgiving week for just more than $3 million, court records show.

Ashton Woods acquired the home sites from Newton Development Inc., a Bradenton company managed by Robert Hunt and Patrick Hogan. The purchase price equates to about $94,500 per developable lot.

The company previously said it plans to build 140 homes as part of the new phase of the Rosedale community in East Manatee County.

The Ashton Woods deal comes just a week after Newton Development similarly sold 42 Rosedale lots to national builder M/I Homes for nearly $3.1 million, records show.

The deal is just the latest as part of the new expansions in the popular Rosedale community.
