Leases Healthy in OKC Market, Reports Show

Several commercial real estate firms reported a healthy batch of new and renewed leases in the Oklahoma City metro area for the final months of 2006 and into early 2007.

Sperry Van Ness announced the execution of a lease agreement in Mustang, at the beginning of January, negotiated by Jason Little and Sami Musallam.

Little said pending a few final approvals, Tractor Supply Co. will occupy more than 25,000 square feet in the Silver City Shopping Center.

The Sperry Van Ness office reported it expected continued absorption of vacant retail space in Mustang as the area continues to grow.

Little also said he expects big things for Choctaw Plaza west of Oklahoma City.

He said renovations and landscaping have commenced at the Choctaw shopping center and several tenants are interested in large blocks. Little said with the improvements and deals in the works he thinks the center will soon rise in occupancy.

"We look forward to taking that one from occupancy in the 80- percent range to well into the 90s in 2007," he said. …
