Tulsa's Peak Methods Acquires OKC Company Serving State Agencies

Article excerpt

Former EDS and WilTel executive Gordon Martin has joined Peak Methods Inc. to help lead the Tulsa technology systems and service supplier down a regional growth path.

Formed last year through the merger of six Nichols Co. subsidiaries, Peak Methods sells and installs telecommunications and computer equipment as a distributor for Dell and Apple, offers management services for IT systems, and provides applications software, both over the counter and proprietary.

Peak Methods just augmented that with the acquisition of Captus Solutions of Oklahoma City, holder of a new contract to provide tech products and services to all state agencies, counties, school districts and municipalities.

Now in his third week as president of Peak Methods, even as the firm closes the books on 2006 Martin has drafted an expansion plan to grow the 45-employee company into a 200-plus firm with regional clientele.

By offering a "one-stop shop" of computer hardware, software and management needs, Martin expects Peak Methods to grow organically from its existing 300-customer base, boosting its revenue 10 percent in 2007. The company will target small and medium companies in four specific sectors: energy (a primary revenue stream for parent Nichols Co.), government, education, and health care.

He also expects his firm to acquire at least one company this year, drawing upon the resources of Nichols. That would help Peak Methods more firmly establish its base in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. …
