Two Bergen County elementary school principals have been honored by the Bergen County Principals and Supervisors Association for their leadership in their respective districts, the organization said.

John Fierro, the principal of Dorchester Elementary School in Woodcliff Lake, and Dr. Molly Dinning, the principal of Hubbard Elementary School in Ramsey, both received the annual Administrative Excellence Award last week, said Anastasia Maroulis, the association's co-president.

"We look for people whose school has programs that are designed to meet the academic and social needs of all their students," Maroulis said.

The BCPSA is a local chapter of the New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association, Maroulis said. Each year, it chooses from nominees across Bergen County for the excellence award.

This year, the organization chose Fierro and Dinning from among eight nominees, Maroulis said.

The administrators must fill out an application and receive letters of recommendation from colleagues and parents within the district before being considered for the award, Maroulis said.

The materials that the association received from Fierro and Dinning "stood out" to the organization, Maroulis said. …
