Pine-Richland Hurdler Adapts, Then Excels

Article excerpt

Two years ago, when she and her Pine-Richland High School track and field teammates were holding an impromptu workout on the football field at Pine-Richland inside a snow-covered track, Kat Quigley relished an opportunity presented to her.

Both of those times were recorded May 1 at the Pine-Richland Invitational.

Quigley, an 18-year-old Pine resident, remembered her introduction to hurdling as something of a lark.

"One of my best friends was [in the hurdles group], and I thought I'd just check it out," she said. …
