FIRST TEAM

P: Mike Benducci

Pascack Hills, senior

Benducci led North Jersey in ERA (0.73) and strikeouts (101). Finished 6-2 and posted a save for a Cowboys' team that won 10 games. He allowed 36 hits and 16 walks in 57 innings.

P: Mike Coss

Pompton Lakes, senior

Along with Kevin Magee, the Cardinals' bulldog helped form North Jersey's top pitching tandem. Coss went 6-1, had a 1.39 ERA, allowed just 25 hits in 43 innings and recorded 82 strikeouts (310 in his four-year career).

P: Kevin Magee

Pompton Lakes, senior

St. John's-bound lefty was dominant again this season. He posted a 7-1 record, a 1.13 ERA, 89 strikeouts and just two walks in 54 innings for the Passaic County champions.

P: Ryan Remo

Mahwah, junior

Led North Jersey in wins with 10, and half of those came against teams that were ranked in The Record Top 10. Struck out 40, walked 11 and posted a 1.79 ERA in 62 1/3 innings.

C: Isaias Quiroz

St. Joseph, senior

A tremendous defensive player who hit a team-high .364, had two home runs and 24 RBI. Drafted in the 20th round of the MLB draft by the Texas Rangers, he signed and began his professional career last week.

1B: Nazir McIlwain

St. Mary, junior

He was one of the most productive hitters in North Jersey. Batted .519 and had 42 hits, including 13 doubles and two homers, and knocked in 37 runs for the NJIC Meadowlands Division champions.

2B: Josh Shaw

Don Bosco, junior

The Most Valuable Player of the Bergen County Tournament hit .432, including 11 doubles and three triples, and produced 24 RBI. Made only one error in 86 fielding chances and accepted a scholarship to St. John's.

3B: Ryan MacNaughton

Pascack Valley, senior

The big gun in the middle of the Indians' batting order hit .400, belted five home runs and had 35 RBI. He will continue his career at Division I Fairleigh Dickinson on a scholarship.

SS: Juan Reina

Passaic Tech, senior

He batted .474, had a .549 on-base percentage and an .885 slugging percentage. The Bloomfield College-bound standout also hit 11 doubles, three triples and five homers, scored 26 runs and knocked home 26 runs. …
