Though not centrally located, this sister of a Michelin-starred midtown standout is worth the trip for its array of impressive Sichuan dishes.

Prices: Appetizers $4.95 to $9.95, entrees $12.95 to $24. Hours: Noon to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday to Thursday, noon to 10 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Closed Monday. Liquor, wine: Full bar, wine list. Noise level: Not an issue during our visits but may be when full. Credit cards: D, MC, V. Reservations: Accepted, but on Friday, Saturday or Sunday nights only accepted for five or more. You may have a better experience at this Bergen institution if you don't think of it as that restaurant near bergenPAC. It's at its best on non-show nights, when you can explore the full modern Italian and Continental menu and the atmosphere is relaxed.

Prices: Appetizers $10 to $20, entrees $20 to $36. Hours: Noon to 10 p.m. Monday to Thursday, noon to 11 p.m. Friday, 5 to midnight Saturday, 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday. Bar open later. Liquor, wine: Full bar, inviting, constantly changing wine list. Noise level: Humming, but not overwhelming. Credit cards: AE, MC, V. Reservations: Highly recommended for dinner, particularly before shows at bergenPAC. Accommodations for children: Children's menu, half-portions and items available on request, highchairs.
