Former Westwood Car Showroom to Become Tire Store

The former Westwood Chevrolet building was sold for $1.8 million and will be converted into a Goodyear Tire Center, the broker for the deal said Monday.

The Opper Group of Glen Rock acquired the 21,000-square-foot building at 39 Kinderkamack Road from Norman Dorf and D&C Chevrolet Co. of Tenafly.

The Goldstein Group of Paramus represented the buyer and seller in the deal, which closed in September.

The building, which is on roughly half an acre, has been vacant for about seven years. It was formerly Westwood Chevrolet's showroom. The space will be renovated and redeveloped into a roughly 9,000-square-feet retail tire center that will open by next spring, Goldstein Group Executive Vice President Lew Finkelstein said.

The Goldstein Group also is handling the sale of the Chevrolet dealership's empty, asphalt-paved lot across the street from the former showroom. The land, about three-quarters of an acre at 40 Kinderkamack Road, is under contract, Goldstein Group President Chuck Lanyard said. …
