Oakland Woman, 30, Goes Missing

A 30-year-old Oakland woman with a history of mental illness has been missing since Tuesday night, prompting her family to fear the worst.

Meaghan McCallum was last seen by her grandmother, Betty Sidow, 85, at about 11 p.m. Tuesday, said Heidi McCallum, the missing woman's mother.

Meaghan McCallum lived with her parents in Oakland but had been staying with Sidow at her Montvale home since March 7. When Sidow awoke at about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, Meaghan McCallum and her car were gone, the missing woman's mother said.

McCallum drives a 1998 black Subaru sedan with the license plate N32 EAY. She hadn't packed belongings, her mother said, and had just "the clothes on her back."

Oakland police confirmed Sunday that the woman was still missing but had no further information. Heidi McCallum, 58, and her husband James, 59, reported their daughter missing to Oakland police on Wednesday.

"This is really, really scary to us. ... We're frightened," Heidi McCallum said. …
