Clint Bowen Still Sorting through Options at Quarterback for KU Football

Kansas interim coach Clint Bowen did not reveal this week's starting quarterback during Monday's Big 12 teleconference.

"There are certain things you control as a QB. Whichever guy's controlling those better is the guy that's going to play," Bowen said. "It's not a whole lot different than any other position. You've got to go out there and you've got to do your job. The guy that's doing it the best is the guy that's going to play."

In Saturday's 33-14 loss at West Virginia, starter Montell Cozart was pulled at halftime after completing 4 of 10 passes for 42 yards.

Backup Michael Cummings didn't fare much better in the second half, going 8-for-17 for 65 yards.

"Montell, in terms of throwing the ball, probably has a little more accuracy. On the flip side, Michael Cummings, right now, probably has a little more ability to pull the trigger and make a quick decision faster and be a little more decisive with that," Bowen said. "They both run the ball about the same. …
