Hot-Shooting K-State Women Crush UTEP in Puerto Vallarta

PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico -- Four Kansas State players scored 13 or more points Tuesday as the Wildcats improved to 4-0 under first- year coach Jeff Mittie with a 72-43 rout of UTEP at the Hardwood Tournament of Hope.

Breanna Lewis and Haley Texada each scored 14 points to pace K- State, which shot 57.1 percent in the first half and raced to a 43- 15 advantage. Ashia Woods and Bri Craig each added 13 as the Wildcats finished hitting exactly half their shots (25 of 50).

Woods pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds, recording a double- double and helping K-State to a 47-37 edge on the boards.

K-State will play Santa Clara at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
