Nine Topeka Bands to Jam for Justice ; Event to Raise Awareness of Human Trafficking

Local musicians and artists again will join the campaign against international human trafficking at the annual Jam for Justice from 3 p.m. to midnight Saturday at The Celtic Fox, 118 S.W. 8th.

A suggested donation of $5 will admit supporters to the downtown Topeka nightclub and eatery, where performers will include, in order of appearance: Amygdala; a showcase of Live Music Institute students; Jarrod Guth; Joey Desch; Bridges; Nate Dingman; Shelton, Fowler, Liston & Carr; the Top City Ramblers; and Ellie Smith & The Commotion.

The fundraiser also will feature art donated by the Green Gals, Looking Glass Tattoo and Gallery, Matryoshka and students from Manchester School for Young Children. Also on the raffle, for a suggested donation of $5 per chance, will be works of art created during the event.

Part of the fundraiser also includes a new edition of "The Freedom Project" CD, featuring jam musicians and songs about the cause. The CD sells for a suggested $10. …
