Manning Poised for 2015 Return ; Denver Quarterback Reportedly 'Physically, Mentally' Ready for Season

Peyton Manning appears ready to commit to playing the 2015 season, although no final decision has been made, according to two reports Friday.

ESPN and USA Today Sports reported that Manning told the Broncos he is physically and mentally prepared to play the 2015 season.

Manning suffered a quadriceps injury late in the 2014 season, and his performance in the second half of the season created concern that his best days are behind him.

On Thursday, Manning met with Broncos vice president of football operations John Elway and team president Joe Ellis.

Elway has said he wants Manning to be with the team in 2015 if he decides to keep playing, but he urged Manning -- who turns 39 next month -- to take his time before making a final call.

Manning had 39 touchdown passes and 15 interceptions but passed for only five touchdowns and was intercepted six times in his last five regular-season games. He was 26 for 46 for 211 yards and one touchdown in a 24-13 loss to the Colts in the divisional round of the AFC playoffs. …
