Top Democrats Weigh in on Clinton Emails

At the Kansas Democratic Party's annual Washington Days event Saturday night, two high profile Democrats weighed in on an issue surrounding the party's top 2016 contender.

The New York Times reported Monday that Hillary Rodham Clinton, while secretary of state, used a private email address to conduct government business, bypassing open records laws.

Former Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, who served as secretary of health and human services while Clinton was secretary of state, was asked if she used a private email address.

"No. We were told specifically, in our department at least, that we needed to use government emails and even if you receive something on your private email that was professional, you needed to transfer it over to your government email and respond that way," Sebelius said.

Sebelius and other Kansas Democrats were in Topeka to hear a keynote speech by Martin O'Malley, a former governor of Maryland.
