OKLAHOMA CITY - Having a sedentary job didn't keep Jana Chattos from staying in shape. A back injury limited her exercise for years, however. The application support professional at Devon Energy Corp. tests software for the driller and helps employees adapt to new computer programs.

In addition to her two-day-per-week routine at the B-Well, she walks or exercises on the elliptical machine at home two to three days per week. After the first six weeks, she lost five pounds. Within three months, she lowered her blood pressure and triglycerides.

Chattos is dedicated to her workout schedule and rarely misses an opportunity to exercise, said Ayana Talley, her supervisor at Devon. In addition, she encourages other employees to join them, Talley said. Recently Chattos mentioned to Talley that she plans to exercise while on vacation. …
