New figures show that more than 40 Greater Manchester Police officers and staff have been disciplined over their use of Twitter, Facebook and YouTube in the last five years.

GMP has won awards for they way it uses social media to connect with the public. But today we reveal how sometimes it goes badly wrong - with shocking incidents that include: ? A Bury officer given a final written warning for posting 'inappropriate, distasteful and offensive' images on Facebook - including slurs about black, Irish and Arabic people.
