DANNY Rose is set to play his first game as a Bury player as the Shakers visit newly-promoted Luton tonight.

The 20-year-old striker agreed a second loan stint with the League 2 club last week and came off the bench to seal a 2-0 win at Hartlepool on Saturday.

Manager David Flitcroft said after the game that he hoped to secure a permanent switch from League 1 Barnsley and the move was completed yesterday, with Rose signing a three-year deal at the JD Stadium.

"Hard work pays off," said Flitcroft. "This has been a big chase for us and we're obviously delighted to finally get the deal done.

"He's a fantastic kid to have around the place and we saw on Saturday just what it means to him.

"It's been difficult for Danny because he is Barnsley born and bred. It's been difficult for his family because he desperately wanted to do well there. …
