TONIGHT'S Argentina versus Portugal game is being billed as the Messi and Ronaldo show - but City ace Sergio Aguero can gatecrash the Ballon d'Or party.

La Liga duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have been on another level for the last few seasons, with the FIFA World Player of the Year award boiling down to a straight fight between them.

The powers that be at City feel Aguero has the ability to crack that duopoly.

The pocket rocket Argentinian has made a blistering start to the 2014/15 season and averages a goal every 66 minutes in the Premier League.

His strike rate is comfortably the best in the history of the league, eclipsing the likes of Luis Suarez, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Thierry Henry and Alan Shearer.

City boss Manuel Pellegrini is confident his man has the game to win the Ballon d'Or, recently saying: "I think Aguero is among the best players in the world. And I think that now it is up to him to make it and fight for the Ballon d'Or, as he has all the qualities you can ask of a football player. …
