AGUERO PROVES HE IS PELLEGRINI'S TOP KUN ; Visit of Swansea Brings Back Memories of Superstar Striker's Dramatic Debut at the Etihad.

OPEFULLY it's the start of something big".

HWith that simple tweet, Sergio Kun Aguero commented on his first goals for City after a stunning bow for the Blues just over three years ago.

And when Kun tomorrow leads the Blues into action against Swansea, the team on the receiving end of his debut double, he can reflect on the fact that his Twitter hopes have become reality.

Aguero has become the club's leading goalscorer in the Premier League era, and the stats show he is the most lethal striker in the league's history.

Then, of course, there is the small matter of his legendary goal that brought a last-gasp title victory in 2012, nine months after he had announced himself to the Etihad Stadium.

With City flagging in this season's title race before the welcome relief of a fortnight's international break, the Blues are looking to Aguero to fire them up once more.

Aguero has been one of a small handful of City players who have reached the high standards they have set for themselves - with Joe Hart, Vincent Kompany and David Silva perhaps the others.

With Kompany only having an outside chance of playing and Silva almost certain to miss tomorrow's visit of the Swans, it is to Aguero supporters will turn. Despite City's belowpar form this season, Aguero's goalscoring ratio has improved with 14 goals in 16 appearances this season - and so far he has avoided the injury woe that disrupted his flow in the 2013-14 campaign.

He has dropped his rate to a goal every 104 minutes in the league, 17 minutes better than Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, and 24 minutes better than United sniper Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Since the 4-1 win over Spurs five weeks ago, City have won just one of six games in all competitions, through Aguero's goal in the derby.

But Kun has netted four in those six games, including the brace that rescued a point at Queen's Park Rangers last time out. …
