Kovar Determined Not to Go Cold as Phoenix Take Break

FORWARD Robin Kovar hopes Manchester Phoenix aren't affected by their two-week break from competitive action.

Phoenix don't play this weekend, with their next match coming at Peterborough Phantoms on December 20.

With that in mind, Kovar wants the W team to be firing on all cylinders when they return to the rink.

"It's nice to have a few days off but we need to stay on track and hope we keep getting better," he said.

"We played well against Bracknell W Bees last week and we needed a game just like that.

"It really kicked us in the right way so it was important we won.

"I'll have to stay in shape during the week off so there won't be much of a break for me.

"The other guys will have to do the same if we want to keep climbing up the table."

It isn't just the league that Phoenix are concentrating on, with a Challenge Cup semi-final on the horizon too. …
