Flitcroft: It's Time for the Players to Stand Up and Be Counted

DAVID Flitcroft is confident his Bury players will stand up and be counted in tonight's FA Cup replay at Luton.

Oxford came from behind to beat Bury 2-1 on Saturday, making it six games without a win for the Shakers.

They've avoided defeat in only one of those games, with a stoppagetime equaliser by Danny Nardiello earning a 1-1 draw at home to Luton last week. And although it was the Shakers who suffered last-gasp despair on Saturday, Flitcroft insists they won't be feeling sorry for themselves.

"I've been brought up to get straight back up when I fall over and to fight again," said the Bury boss.

"I won't go and hide anywhere - and none of these players will. We won't become victims.

"We're just in a bad run of form and it's up to me, as the manager of the club, to get this group of players and the staff up for the next challenge, up for the next fight. …
