Lohfink Says Young Gun Joe Can Handle the Heat

VETERAN Ryan Lohfink says young gun Joe Swindells has is kept a cool head during his 'baptism of fire'.

Manchester Magic head for Hemel Storm today (7pm) with the inexperienced point guard again set to direct operations in the absence of injured Franc Garcia Garrido.

Magic boss Paul Middleton has relied on the youngster while the more senior Spaniard recovers from a foot problem.

And American Lohfink says the home-grown product is doing just fine.

"If you lose someone like Franc then have a couple of losses in the league, as we did, it takes a bit of time to adjust," said Lohfink.

"We knew Joe was going to contribute at the start of the season but he's been thrown in and had to do more and had a bit of a baptism of fire.

"He's done really well. It's good for him on a personal level for his development and he's done well for the team. …
