Phil's Wife Pours Cold Water on His Kettle Skills

EX-UNITED star Phil Neville has been left red-faced after admitting he's gone 37 years without learning how to make a cup of instant coffee.

Despite a lifetime of sporting achievements, the former Reds and England player-turned TV pundit told of his shame at not being able to make a cuppa after being caught out by a journalist who came to his house before Christmas.

The 37-year-old told BBC Radio 5 Live listeners that he panicked and had to ring his wife Julie for 'urgent' instructions after the reporter asked for a coffee.

Neville said: "My heart sank because I thought 'how do I do that?'"I ran into the kitchen and I thought 'I am not going to poison this gu', ' so I rang my wife.

"The problem I then had was how much milk to put in. I forgot to ask my wife how much. To be fair, he [the journalist] is still alive."

Julie, who has been with Neville for 18 years, went on to further embarrass her husband on BBC radio after claiming he's never used a vacuum cleaner or a mop. …
