Thieves Target Restaurant for the Third Time ; Owner Claims Caribbean Eatery Is Losing Customers Following Spate of Break-Ins

AGRANDMA says her restaurant is losing customers after thieves targeted it three times.

Florence Coke, 60, owner of Mama Flo's, a Caribbean restaurant on Buxton Road, in Great Moor, is now nervous about working alone.

It means she has less time to prepare food so the variety she offers has decreased and fewer customers are being tempted in.

The latest incident happened overnight between January 23 and 24 when crooks ripped lights and an extractor fan off the wall in a failed attempt to break in.

Florence, who also lives in Great Moor, said: "It has really upset me.

"I am not a young woman and I'm trying to run a business.

"It is affecting me, I don't like coming in early and being on my own.

"It means I am not getting as much food ready and am losing customers.

"Things shouldn't be like that.

"But I am not packing it in, it is my job and I want people to know what is happening to me. …
