PALS RALLY TO HELP FLY DAD'S BODY FROM SPAIN ; Daughter Left with Pounds 6,000 Bill after Her Father Dies Suddenly on Holiday in Benidorm

AWOMAN whose dad died suddenly while on holiday in Spain has launched a desperate appeal for help to raise the money to bring him home.

Steve Barry, 50, was enjoying a break in Benidorm with friends when he died earlier this month.

The dad-of-one had no travel insurance and his daughter Katie now needs to pay the bill to fly his body back.

The nail technician was told it would cost at least Pounds 6,000 plus the cost of a funeral in his home town of Droyslden.

But since pals set up an online fundraising page, donations have flooded in. Katie, 24, who lives in Barnsley, said: "The response has been absolutely incredible. "Some people donating have been complete strangers. It really does restore your faith in people."

Steve, who lived in Littlemoss in Droylsden, was a former engineer at Mono Pumps in Audenshaw and a regular at the Kings Head pub in Droylsden where a fundraiser will be held on Friday night.

DJ Dennis Jones will supply the music from one of Steve's favourite bands Take That. …
