KUN AIMS TO TURN TEARS INTO CHEERS ; Aguero Is Now Back on the Goal Trail after Scoring Streak Crashed to a Halt.

ERGIO SERGIO Aguero has revealed how the knee injury that halted his astonishing goal streak reduced him to tears.

But the Blues striker has warned Chelsea that he is now fit and in the mood to fire the team back into the title race, as City rev up for tomorrow's mustwin home game against Newcastle.

Kun also says he remains confident that City can close the seven- point gap, especially now they have boosted their ranks by signing Pounds 25m man Wilfried Bony, who is in line to make his debut.

Aguero had lit up the Premier League and Champions League with a scorching run of 16 goals in 14 starts that had people mentioning him in the same breath as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

But that came crashing to a halt when he damaged his knee seven minutes into the home win over Everton in December - and as he limped away from the action he was visibly upset by the knowledge that he would be out for weeks.

"I just wanted to keep on playing and I couldn't - I felt powerless," said Aguero. "The match had barely started and I just wanted to keep going and helping my team, so realising I'd injured my knee and would probably face a spell on the sidelines really hit me.

"I felt something had happened straight away. I hadn't a clue how bad it was but I knew something wasn't right. At that time I felt strong and really happy with my game so it was frustrating to say the least."

Aguero was out for five weeks, and it took him six games to find his match sharpness again - when his double strike helped City to a 4-1 win at Stoke.

Kun's absence was accentuated by the fact they lost Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic at the same time, leaving them without any strikers, and prompting a transfer window move for Bony.
