DOUBLE Olympic gold medalist Ed Clancy admits his track days could be numbered but is desperate for one final glory Games.

The Manchester-trained star is certainly out for redemption with his British team-mates at the UCI Track World Championships that got underway in Paris on Wednesday night.

Clancy and his fellow team pursuiters finished eighth and didn't even quality for last year's final in Colombia despite their back- to-back success at Beijing 2008 and London 2012.

"I am still baffled how we got it so badly wrong last year," says Clancy, whose place in the omnium has gone to Stockport-based Jon Dibben.

"We had done similar prep before and, while we hadn't set the world on fire, we had done all right.

"It is not unusual for one or two guys to be struggling but for the whole team not to have any form was really disappointing," At 29, Clancy is the senior member of the GB squad in the French capital and looking to future challenges. …
