Catfi Atfia Sh's Dreams of Reds' Theata Ta Re ; Bottlemen in Plea to Play a Gig at Old Trafford

PICTURE the scene: Old Traord stadium, a capacity home crowd, scenes of celebration as athletic men showcase their world class talent and endeavour on the hallowed turf.

We are not, however, referring to Manchester United's return to the Premier League summit (that might be a while oyet) - rather, we're indulging the dreams of four rock and roll upstarts from Llandudno known as Cat"sh and fie Bottlemen.

"I'm putting it out there - we wanna do a gig at Old Traord," declares Cat"sh And fie Bottlemen singer Van McCann. "I want it to be like this generation's Oasis at Maine Road, or the Roses at Spike Island - a big, de"ning gig by a proper rock and roll band.

"I'm the only United supporter in this band, and I've been to games when I've heard our songs played at half-time -as a massive Red, that's been one of my proudest moments."

" Given his band's recent career progress, McCann's Old Trord ambitions might not be so far-fetched (arguably more realistic than United grabbing some silverware).

Indeed, when it comes to that rare commodity that is the young British guitar band, Cat"sh And fie Bottlemen are as vital as it gets in 2015.

fieir debut album, fie Balcony (produced by Jim Abbiss of Arctic Monkeys fame), climbed to number 10 in the UK charts, their upcoming UK tour is close to selling out, and back in December, the band walked away with the Best New Act gong at the BBC Music Awards.

Recalling that latter event - when Cat"sh shared a bill with the likes of Coldplay and Take fiat fiat T - McCann laughs at the sheer incongruity of his band rubbing shoulders with such pop luminaries.

"fiat was just mad," he says. "I can remember being backstage, all these bands like Take fiat fiat T having multiple costume changes and getting their hair done, then there's us - going on with the same messy hair and scruy clothes we turned up in. …
