GREG Dyke may have criticised the lack of opportunities for homegrown talents, but City youngster Ellis Plummer has no concerns about international competition.

"It's part of being at this club," he said.

"It's a rich club so you have to expect them to buy a lot of players but I always feel that if you're good enough you'll get a chance."

The main problem for the 20-year-old defender this season has been not being able to play.

Fresh from committing his future with the clubs until 2016, the Manchester lad went on loan to St Mirren for a full year of football.

Plummer had a brief spell with Oldham in the previous campaign and enjoys the challenge of competitive matches.

"It's a lot different," he told M.E.N Sport. "Playing in front of crowds, playing for points ... everyone is playing for their jobs and families so there is a lot more pressure. …
