Bomb Threat Bank Raider Is Captured on CCTV

POLICE have released CCTV of a man who went on a series of terrifying robberies using a handwritten note threatening to detonate a bomb.

The crook is believed have struck three times, the latest being at Lloyds bank, on Chorley Road, Swinton, on April 14 at 1.45pm.

He showed a cashier the note which stated, 'put the money in the bag or the bomb goes off'.

But after a short exchange between the two he escaped empty- handed when she challenged him and said: "Are you serious?" His first robbery happened at William Hill bookmakers, on Church Street, Eccles, on March 23 at 9.35am when he used the same or similar note.

This time a cashier handed over Pounds 300 and he calmly walked off towards Eccles bus station.

The man struck again at the Royal bank of Scotland, in Stretford Mall, on April 1 shortly before 11.15am.

He pretended to be interested in opening a bank account before slipping the note over the counter. …
