TUSCALOOSA | The Tuscaloosa Academy Knights took down the East Memorial Christian Academy Wildcats 39-7 on Friday night.

The homecoming victory put the Knights at 7-0 on the season, while dropping the Wildcats to 2-6.

"I thought we came out and played the game well all night long," TA coach Robert Johnson said. "We threw the ball well tonight, and I thought we just played great."

The Knights jumped out early when fullback Brooks Adams ran in a 3-yard touchdown to give the Knights an early 6-0 lead. Then the TA passing attack took control as quarterback Jonathan Plott found wide receiver Torrence Brown for a 32-yard touchdown on TA's second drive, and a 44-yard touchdown on the third drive.

Brown used his athleticism on the second touchdown, pulling the ball away from the Wildcat defender in mid-air before scampering to the end zone.

"(Brown's) getting better and each week," Johnson said. "Tonight might have been his best game. I am very proud of him."

The Knights' offensive barrage did not stop there, however, as Clay Thomas scored on a 20-yard touchdown run to put TA up 26-0 at the half. …
